ANNE MARIE BIERNACKI

Anne Marie Biernacki, the co-founder and CTO at ActualMeds Corp., is a recognized product and operations executive, with major achievements leading development and delivery of enterprise and consumer software solutions. She has over 20 years of experience in solutions for eHealth, Health Information Technology and Informatics – including health data interoperability, standards development and implementation.

At ActualMeds, Anne Marie drives product development and operations efforts for the company, including standards-based data interoperability initiatives and certifications. These have included certification of ActualMeds as a Surescripts integration partner, and integration to a variety of claim and EHR/portal feeds. She has also been a key player in supporting various strategy, fundraising and business development efforts based on her healthcare IT domain experience and existing industry relationships.

Among other appointments in her career, Anne Marie was a founding team member at one of the companies (Avicenna) that became Care InSite, Inc., where she led key product development activities from inception, through $3M venture funding to $30M acquisition up to the subsequent IPO. Care InSite provided web-enabled information services to physicians, via development of a web-based, rules driven, e-prescribing solution. Later, Care InSite, Inc. was purchased by Healtheon/WebMD.

Anne Marie has an extensive consulting experience at the executive level of Vice President or CxO. One of her assignments was with Nemucore Medical Innovations, where she led initial development of information systems, communications and a distributed work framework, as well as special projects for this emerging nano-medicine GMP manufacturing company. She consulted with PanGenX Corp, a genomic informatics company, assisting with process mapping and scaleup of the engineering team.

Anne Marie was named one of Boston area “Top 10 Women to Watch” for 2005 by Mass High Tech society. More recently, she reported outcomes of medication data capture pilot program with New York Presbyterian Association of Clinicians for the Underserved Annual Conference and Health IT Forum, Alexandria, VA, June 2014.

She was also selected for a mainstage demo of the ActualMeds platform at Health Datapalooza IV (Washington DC, June 2014) and participated in the TEDMED Innovators “Hive” (Washington DC, April 2013).

Mrs. Biernacki graduated from University of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio with Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, Honors Program. She earned her Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Draper Fellowship at Tufts University, Medford MA.
